PEACE

Today I am at peace with a lot of things. Today I decided I want to teach my cat to talk.

Today, three birds sang for me. I watched, in wonderment, as they fluttered around the flowers on my balcony. Happy, happy little birds - happy splashing in the bird bath and dining on morsels of rain soaked seeds.

I am overjoyed by the love that I have deliberately attracted into my life. I am extremely grateful for all your kind thoughts, your generous spirits, your higher beliefs, and most of all, your unconditional love.

I am not alone. I not alone in life, or in my struggles. I am grateful for Ezra.

"It’s being here now that’s important. There’s no past and there’s no future. Time is a very misleading thing. All there is ever, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can’t relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don’t know if there is one.”

George Harrison

    2. And you tell your side of a story to hurt someone that cared. Not very George Harrison like.

  8. oh, shannon - george harrison's quote is what i am trying so hard to live by these days. and your thoughts about all you are grateful for and how you are at peace really touched me. hold onto it tight! and watch out for how your cat reacts to YOU teaching it something - most all cats i know think THEY should be teaching us! funny little rascals...

sending you LOVE, LOVE AND MORE LOVE,

    XOXOXOXO, karen

    1. Ha! well Karen, you are soooo right about the cat. I caught Phoebe, the very next day, trying to "talk" to a nice, unsuspecting couple as they walked hand in hand in the park setting behind our condo. I couldn't hear what she was saying but by here body language it looked to be, "I'M LOST, FEED ME, PET ME, TELL ME I'M BEAUTIFUL" when the couple tried to read the name tag on her collar, Phoebe bit them. She's SUCH a bitch, that Phoebe Fong! That NOW, George Harrison quote is really working for me, I just have to hold onto it as long as I can.

  9. When I want to see a "physical" form of God on Earth, I look into the pup's eyes. They are full of unconditional love and kindness.

U need a pick me up, pick those three babies of ur up and hold them. That is holding "peace" right there.

I have been reading Lee Strobel's "The Case for Christ". He's an investigator of sorts and boy did he do some investigating. In one of his chapters, he investigates "suffering". I have a new outlook on why God might allow suffering. It certainly helped me.

I have a lot of friends "suffering" right now. Illness, death, suicide thoughts, jail time, etc. It has pushed me to seek more understanding.

I spent yesterday afternoon looking through inspirational thoughts and saving them so that I can put them up on my blogspot for u, others and myself. They certainly uplifted me.

Shannon, my heart smiles that u say u are finding "peace". Those are wonderful words to see written by u. U have many many many many friends who will walk beside u in this journey. U will not be alone.

I have to say I love "the moment with his pup on the couch". I see the love in both their eyes for one another.

    1. Ezra learned what he needed to learn while he was here. so did the pup. it's an 'all knowingness" that I see, and I think you do too. because you are all about goodness. so the oak says to the oak!

    2. Ezra is still with us and so is his pup.

I don't know who the Anonymous Asshole Comment is from but I'd wish u'd delete it.

Who needs poo poo like that?

At my desk is one of my many quotes "THINK POSITIVE AND POSITIVE THINGS WILL HAPPEN." Well, I've had a lot of grumpy old men making smart bum comments about it today. But hey they have proved my point. They aren't positive so they are BLAH BUT MAYBE JUST MAYBE if they would think positive THEN POSITIVE THINGS WOULD HAPPEN TO THEM.

Keep your head up kiddo. I EXPECT u to be at my 50th birthday party in 2016. I think u should dress as a PIRATE GIRL too.

And how did it go with your cat?

    1. :)))))))) exactly! today seemed to be "animal crossing the road day"... a slow chipmunk, followed by a wild turkey, then a low riding robin, and then a dead deer. What does it all mean? I asked myself. I decided I need to reminded, once again, to slow the fuck down. To appreciate the small, simple things that the busy mind sometimes misses. So I did. i slowed down. and the first thing I saw, was an asian women, tucked behind a nail salon... in the shade of a single tree... she was smiling as she hula hooped. It made me so happy to see her smiling..

    2. I like this "An asian woman, tucked behind a nail salon..in the shade of a single tree...she was smiling as she hula hopped."

Find the simple joys in everyday life. They are all around if one will stop and look.

  17. This was the update on the chickens in case you couldn't find it...

    http://www.survivingboys.com/2013/06/its-not-really-about-chickens.html

They are doing well, and I suspect that we will get a few heads up on how they are. But the boy that took them has 200 more coming to his farm this week, so I'd expect it'd be chicken frenzy over there for quite a while. :) Thanks for checking in! -J
